Leite dedicated five years to intensive study at Lynn University, where he achieved a Professional Performance Certificate in 2006 and a Master’s degree in Music by 2009. Throughout this period, he was under the guidance of Associate Professor Carol Cole, alongside former Professors Sergiu Shwartz and Elmar Oliveira. His studies were fully supported by a scholarship covering tuition and housing, allowing him to concentrate entirely on the Conservatory’s demanding curriculum.
The program encompassed a broad range of learning opportunities, including individual lessons, studio classes, masterclasses, weekly performance seminars, as well as participation in orchestra and chamber ensembles. “I was truly breathing music at Lynn,” Leite reflected. “The school’s extensive support enabled me to dedicate myself fully to practice, which is an invaluable opportunity.”
Leite particularly valued his immersion in small ensemble music, distinguishing himself as a winner of the Lynn Conservatory Lyric Chamber Competition. Moreover, he was honored with a personal invitation from the Conservatory of Music Dean, Jon Robertson, to visit Haiti, where he spent several days teaching and performing pieces by German composer Robert Schumann.
He attributes much of his artistic growth and versatility to the supportive and attentive mentorship of his professors. “The teachers were very nurturing,” Leite said. “They always listened carefully to any musical inquiries I had and provided thoughtful guidance.”
Beyond the university setting, Leite expanded his practical experience through various performance and teaching engagements across Florida. His professional activities included collaborations with esteemed organizations such as the Miami City Ballet, Atlantic Classical Orchestra, Palm Beach Opera, Stringendo Music Festival, Dreyfoos School of the Arts, and Lynn Preparatory School of Music.
