Piacenza, Italy – From 12 to 16 May 2026, the Next Gen Guadagnini will officially make its debut as the first international lutherie competition exclusively dedicated to students.
The event will take place at the Complesso Architettonico Ricci Oddi, located at Via San Siro 13, a venue of outstanding historical and cultural significance.

The competition aims to highlight emerging talent and support the new generation of makers as they move from education into the professional world, firmly rooted in the great Italian lutherie tradition.
Admitted instruments and category
The competition is open to modern and antiqued instruments in the following categories:
- Violin
- Viola
- Cello
A single category reserved for students is предусмотрed.
Prize money
Next Gen Guadagnini offers substantial cash prizes, each accompanied by a diploma and medal:
- 1st Prize – Modern Violin: €5,000
- 1st Prize – Antiqued Violin: €5,000
- 1st Prize – Modern Viola: €6,000
- 1st Prize – Antiqued Viola: €6,000
- 1st Prize – Modern Cello: €10,000
- 1st Prize – Antiqued Cello: €10,000
* Winning instruments will be acquired by the organization.
